Special Called Board Meeting – September 1st

Thursday, September 1st, 2022

Belton Lions Club
Special Called Board Meeting
Thursday, September 1st

Called to Order at 11:00am by President Mike Matthews

Topic Discussion:

For the upcoming Belton, Bacon, Blues & Brews event, September 24th

Each year, the event provides an opportunity for a local 501(c)3 organization to sell the tickets to the public for the “People’s Choice” award.

For 2022, the event offered the fundraising opportunity to the Belton Lions Club.  The Club has agreed to participate; and also have our Plate Spinning Contest.

As this is also an opportunity to Showcase the Belton Lions Club, we agreed to purchase a canopy tent awning and personalized table skirting.

There were two quote options available:

Quote 1: BeOne Marketing: I think Patti said that full color would be same price on both canopy and covers.
Tent Canopy with Lions logo (one color printing) on upper; Belton Lions Club on each side flap; on dark blue canopy – $600.00
Three sided table covers, dark blue, with Lions logo and Belton Lions Club on front – $138.00 x 2 (Patti will pay for the 3rd one)
Total: $876.00 … no tax … don’t know about shipping cost.

Quote 2:
ABCCANOPY Tent Canopy, dark blue, no logos or lettering – $159.95
Table Covers Now three sided table covers, dark blue (full color logo and Belton Lions Club lettering) – 3 for $218.00
Total: $377.95 … no tax … don’t know about shipping cost.

Regardless of Quote Decision, these will need to be purchased:
Signs: 18″x24″ corrugated printed vinyl @ $20.00/ea.
Canopy Tent  Anchors: $40.00 set

After discussion, the consensus was: professional representation provided by Quote 1 would be advantageous and beneficial to the Club; and that we could use the canopy and table covers at 3-4 additional events each year.

James Harrison motioned to accept Quote 1; 2nd by John Corsi; approved by voting sign of a Belton Lion.

It was also agreed to use the gold and blue Lions International logo.

Meeting closed at 11:50am.
