Program: – Lion Debra Sue Oden has invited our MD2-X3 District Governor Kim Giles!
Our program guest today for lunch was District 2-X3 Governor Kim Giles. It is always an honor and a treat to have DG Kim in the house updating us on Marketing, Council of Governors, Texas Lions Camp and so much more in the plans for 2026-2027! Thank You! And, today as an added bonus, JR, Bree, Tanner & Raylah Salazar joined us with a TLC testimonial – our Club sponsored Tanner and the Family to Session 9 at Texas Lions Camp. Tanner & Raylah told us all about fishing, horseback riding, miniature golf and all of the Camp activities they enjoyed. A quote from the Salazars: “It was by far the BEST trip our family has ever taken. We got to spend 3 full days surrounded by the most amazing staff members and families just like ours. Words truly can’t describe how special our time was there.” We SERVE because we’re LIONS ~ We’re LIONS because we CARE!

Program: – Lion Nichole Jack Johnson invited Isamary Banks Nieves to tell us about New Life Village. New Life Village is designed to provide youth again and aged out of foster care with safe, clean, and practical independent living structures in a small community setting – providing resources and aiming to inspire them to change the world for others.   President Berg urged each of the Board Members to take an active role in reaching out to greet and get to know our new members to help them feel included and engaged in the Club. We should also encourage our families to get involved and engaged in the Club.
– We currently have several Sponsors for Captain “D” Dash for SIGHT! ABC Home and Commercial Services, John Corsi State Farm Insurance, Cabinets Deluxe, TX Crafty Girlz, and the Salazar Family.  Lion Pam’s team will meet Sunday to address new sponsor solicitations.
– Bell County Senior Expo, September 22^nd, 8am-1pm, Expo Center – the event is redesigned this year – we will need to provide 3-4 volunteers to help with bags and whatever help they need.

Program: – Lion Susie Marek invited Eldred’s Nursery Foundation Executive Director Tracey Toledo, accompanied by Berlin Rodriguez, and several of the Trainees – Saria Curiel, Beth Kahler and Logan Marek to give us an overview, update and future plans for the Foundation.  Eldred’s provides job training and life-skills, as well as day habitation services for adults with special needs.  They are in the process of moving the Foundation to a 12,000 sq. ft. building on Industrial Blvd. in Belton that will function as an adult individualized skill and socialization; and a vocational training center to teach life and job skills to adults in the program. What a blessing to have them join us for lunch today and share their SERVICE!

Program: – Lion George Bunker presented “What makes Wastewater Cool?” Special Guest Speaker Dennis Livingston, the “grandfather of MBR (Membrane Bioreactor Technology)” – fascinating presentation about the newest technology in wastewater recovery. A membrane Bioreactor (MBR) is an advanced wastewater treatment technology that integrates biological degradation processes with membrane filtration for solid-liquid separation.  Great Presentation – Thank You!
