Projects: Belton Patriot Plaza
Thursday, August 5th, 2010The City of Belton and the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce have been working on the Belton Patriot Way project for the last year. The city has been in the process of reconstructing Central Avenue. In conjunction with that project, the Chamber of Commerce has been selling sidewalk bricks to honor those who have served in our nation’s military. Both groups are working toward a final project to construct a memorial plaza at the intersection of Central Avenue and IH35. Our club has been asked to consider supporting this great project. The Board of Directors voted to move forward with raising $2,000 to support this project, which still needs TxDOT approval.
Projects: Lions Pavilion
Thursday, August 5th, 20102010: The City of Belton is planning repairs to the Lions Pavilion located in Heritage Park, as much of the exterior wood needs to be replaced. The city plans to replace the wood with longer-lasting metal. In addition, the Lion’s sign on the building needs to be repainted.
Our club has an opportunity to participate in the repairs of the pavilion. The city estimates the labor would cost $1,700 to repair. We have been asked to considering supporting this worthy project.
