Board Meeting Recap:
– Fall Festival for Children with Special Needs – Saturday, October 19th 2-4pm – The Board approved $75 to purchase candy.
– Specialty Products: The Board approved a budget of $300 for the Club to spend on Lion give-aways for events.
– 1st Vice President – The Board would like to present a suggested slate to fill current officer positions.
Call for motion to accept: Jon Fontenot as 1st Vice President & Todd Schiller as 2nd Vice President, effective immediately; and current President Jennah Gliha as Treasurer, effective July 1st, 2024; Motion by Mike Matthews; 2nd by John Corsi; accepted / voted / approved
Oath Delivered to be delivered October 3rd to Jon Fontenot and Todd Schiller
REMINDERS and ANNOUNCEMENTS:
– Bell County Senior Expo, September 24th, 8am-1pm, Thank you to those who helped.
– Lions on the Leon – October 5th – update from Monday’s committee meeting; everything is moving forward … excitement is building! Danny called for help Monday 9/30 evening to get the barrels off for examination and repair; cmte will also meet.
– Belton Bacon, Blues and Brews, Friday/Saturday, September 27 & 28th – confirmed to display Pearl and a few Pirates to promote the Boat Race Event. Captain D is recruiting Pirates to help promote our event. Friday 5pm-9pm / Sat. 11am-7pm – Thank you to those who signed up. We currently have Karen, Danny, Patti, Cree & Jennah for Friday; Karen, Danny, Patti David, Keith & Jennah for Saturday.
– Next District Meeting, October 12, Athens, Texas – As of today, our Club will not be represented at the meeting.
– October 19th – Fall Festival for Children with Special Needs and their Siblings, Central Texas Christian School, 8a-1p, Sign-up sheet after Bacon, Blues and Brews

– Stampede Bike Ride 2025 Date – April 26th, 2025 Brett has been working on route and will schedule a committee meeting soon.
– Mark Bellomy presented that Business Network International meets every Tuesday morning at 8:00am, Church of Christ on Hwy 317; they offer no charge membership to non-profits; he suggested that the Club might want to join the Network.
– Belton Lions Wall at Heritage Park – James Harrison coordinating

– LEO Club Update – Brett – future interested LEOs can help with events, as they further their plans.
– January District Meeting, January 18, Temple, Texas
– December 19th – Pictures with Santa for Children with Special Needs and their Siblings
– The Club now has a storage unit at Belton Mini Storage. All supplies that were in Secretary’s personal storage are now in the Belton storage. Please contact Club Secretary for unit number and lock code to take supplies, information and records to storage.
– Lions Foundation Annual Report – Belton Lions Club Foundation By-Laws and Constitution. Texas Secretary of has provided a copy of the Articles of Incorporation from 1988. By-Laws Committee to update soon.
