Old Business:

– Membership Milestone Awards – Will we be presenting these at the June 27th EOY meeting; or at Christmas?  The Board agreed that Milestones will be in five (5) year increments; starting at 10 year membership. – John Corsi and Jennah Gliha.  Secretary has provided a Report of each member’s length of membership. – no discussion at this meeting

– Club Excellence Award – we are now eligible this year, incoming Board Members have completed online training; and the Club has completed the new Joint Service Project requirement.

– Friends of Belton Lions – Two additional Friends of Belton Lions: Hugh Shine and Judy Garrett – plaques have been made – we need to schedule their lunch visit – no discussion at this meeting.

– Stampede on the Chisholm Trail – reminder for next Committee Meeting – no discussion at this meeting.

– Flag Program – how do we get more members involved in helping with the flag installations and replacements?

It was suggested that we get new members involved using a mentor/buddy system.  It was also discussed that we used to have the routes divided and had members assigned to monitor and take care of their respective routes – no decision was made at this meeting.

New Business:

– CTACPSA Spring Classic Scholarship Bass Tournament – Billy Conway asked that the Club consider a $200 sponsorship.  All donations go to the CTACPSA Scholarship Fund, which helps police officers and their children with college tuition.  Event sponsors will receive signage at the point of tournament registration and during the tournament weigh-in, verbal recognition at the tournament weigh-in, and recognition by the organizing Associations. James Harrison motioned that we sponsor; 2nd by Danny Dossman; after discussion, voted approval.

– President Keith Cook has suggested that the Club consider offering a third Scholarship annually – because there are three (3) High Schools now.  There was no discussion at this meeting.

– Back to School with God, July 20, 10am-Noon – Supplying and serving hot dogs … product will cost the Club approx. $800 for 700 hot dogs.  We need to approve cost.  Also who will cook, how will they be cooked; and where will they be cooked? Instead of the suggested 85th Anniversary $300 left over, to be given to Boat Race; President Cook is suggesting that it be applied to Back to School with God expenses.  James Harrison updated the overage from the 85th to $378.00.  Pricing information for the supplies has been previously provided to President Keith Cook for Event Coordinator Jennifer Bailey.  David Shaw and Jennah Gliha suggested that the Club approach Sam’s Club to partner with the Club for the supplies.  Karen Stagner will supply donation request letter & Jennah Gliha will meet with Sam’s Club.  It was questioned about what organization provided the hot dogs before – we understand that it was the church – none were provided last year.  Danny motioned that the Club approve up to $800 for the Community Outreach event – noting that we will utilize the $378 from the 85th; and try to get Sam’s Club to partner; 2nd by Mike Matthews; no further discussion – voted approved.
Most of the Board members agreed that grilled dogs would be better than boiled.  Jennah Gliha offered for Chris to bring out their large flat grill to cook – starting early – wrapping the hot dogs and keeping them in ice chests.

Holding to a Later Date:

– Update on Cadence Bank – CD and other
–
David Shaw – Deployment bags are requested for our Adopted Unit – tabled until Lion Shaw is able to provide details.
– Belton Lions Wall at Heritage Park – James Harrison coordinating
