– Treasurer Update – Lion PP Jennah is stepping back to focus on the new baby; Club Secretary is acting Treasurer for now. 
– Email from HH Lions President – a case manager at Cedar Crest Hospital has reached out for financial assistance (eye exams / glasses) for several of their patients. Board will reach out to Lion Luke Potts to get addl. information – however, our Club has met our budgeted expenditures for this year on the eye program.
– America’s Best Eyeglasses – we have budget for two more this year cycle; we just received three (3). – need approval to pay for 3rd.  Carmela (America’s Best will not do anymore exams this year without prior approval)
The Board approved the 3rd eyeglass payment (motioned by Lion John, 2nd by Lion Mike).  America’s Best will not do any more exams this year without prior Board approval to go beyond the budget.

                – Secretary Stagner requested that the Board approve having the portable ATM machine at the event. The cost would be $150 – which would be reduced by the number of people who use the machine by $5 per transaction.  After lengthy discussion, the Board approved by majority to contract for the ATM   (motion by Lion Mike, 2nd by Lion Keith).- Printer – Thank you from the Club Secretary!  The new printer makes a HUGE difference.

 – Lion Larry Berg is going to invite Chief Ellis to lunch – we will present him with a plaque commemorating his 23 years as a Lion – He has been a member of BLC since 2008; and was a Lion before with another Club since 2002 – update

Any other Business … Pam Blair announced to the Board that she has already applied to a Temple Lions Club. So, she was advised that she could only be an Associate member of Belton Lions.

  – Sponsor handout – Sponsor deadline to be included on t-shirt is tomorrow, Sept. 12th. Sponsorships offset cost to hold the event – printing, signs, prizes & awards, carnival games & prizes. Current paid sponsors: RVOS Insurance, Perry Contract Furniture, Cochran, Blair & Potts, Smoke Eater Guitars & Junction Fitness. Invoiced sponsors: ABC Home & Commercial, John Corsi State Farm.  Lion James Harrison announced that Blue Ridge Ranch will match new sponsorships that come in.
  – Need company brochures, flyers and stuff for Swag Bags (75)
  – Silent/Bucket Raffle – we now have fourteen (14) basket items on-hand and committed– Thank you.
  – Volunteer Sign-Up by area/category/time – like STAMPEDE – it’s all hands on deck – and kids, and spouses, and cousins – lots of new areas this year where volunteers will be needed – volunteer sign-up passed – scan attached.
– Bell County Senior Expo, Tuesday, Sept. 23, 8am-1pm, Cadence Bank Center – Entertainment hosts; Speaker hosts; Greeters; & Emcee. Sign-up Sheet is FULL. Thank you!  Details email will be sent to those who have signed up – scan attached.
Lions ZONE C-2 Meeting, Sept. 25, 6pm, Feed My Sheep Sunrise Center, hosted by Temple Breakfast Lions Club, meal provided by Temple Feed My Sheep.  Zone Clubs: Belton, Rosebud Lott, Salado, Temple Belton Ladies, Temple Breakfast & Temple Funder. Sign up sheet will be passed – spouses Welcome – scan attached.
– Our Club will be selling the People’s Choice tickets and our Plate Spinning Contest at Belton, Bacon, Blues and Brews, September 27 – Sign-up sheet passed – scan attached.

– LEO Club – the Club has been asked to join with Temple Breakfast Lions to support their existing LEO Club – this is a liaison commitment request; not monetary.  We need a member to volunteer to be our Club liaison with Dr. Ponder and Dorree Collins.  Please consider volunteering to meet with Dr. Ponder and Dorree to get more information– Lion President Jon volunteered to meet with them to get more information. Karen has reached out the Lisle Meeker for possible dates, locations and times – TBD
– BLC Fundraiser Cruise – 
March 1-8, 2026 from Galveston onboard the Regal Princess – with stops in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan – includes all port charges, round trip transportation to the pier in Galveston and a breakfast on the charter bus.  Your Travel Agent, 254-939-731, yourtravelagent@hot.rr.com

– Membership Milestone Awards – Will we be presenting these at Christmas?  The Board agreed that Milestones will be in five (5) year increments; starting at 10 year membership. – John Corsi and Jennah Gliha.  Secretary has provided a Report of each member’s length of membership. – No discussion at this meeting

                Gene Ellis letter – dropping from membership – no time – Lion Larry Berg is going to invite Chief Ellis to join us for lunch – we will present him with plaque commemorating his 23 years as a Lion – He has been a member of BLC since 2008; and was a Lion before with another Club since 2002.

Business 

– Lion Malinda Golden letter requesting time to speak with Belton Lions about upcoming BIDS bond. Lion Keith Cook is looking into a September date.

– Pulte Group letter of request for flag support; with our Club response; no update – Lions Larry Berg and Jon Fontenot are going to the Disabled Veteran’s Home Presentation tomorrow, Friday; and will visit with the Pulte Homes people for future Disabled Veterans Service and Support Opportunities.

– Captain “D” Dash for “Sight”
     – proposed event layout (handout) for discussion – Google Earth map with layout – added CERT.
    –  discuss suggestions to get more cash sponsors – we currently have $950 in sponsors; over $2,000 in expenses so far … ideas … 
– Eyeglasses with America’s Best – update (handout) – the vetting system had a hiccup recently which is being rectified.  With three (3) BLC members now training to do the screening and vetting, we will be better able to control recipients who “need” our assistance.  District Eye Screen Director is aware and will monitor & vet all referrals coming to BLC from outside our Club. 
– Printer – current Cannon TR4722 uses a lot of ink – Regular Cartridge 100 pages / XL Cartridge 300 pages
Handout – comparison of Epson Printers and Ink.  After discussion, the Board voted – motion by Lion Larry; 2nd by Lion James; approved to purchase Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Wireless Color All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer ($189) from Amazon – 4,500 pages (black XL / 7,500 pages – color XL) 
– Kerr County – No Update at this meeting – President Jon has been in touch with our Zone and District Disaster teams and will keep us updated as to when and how our Club might be able to help.

– MD 2-X3 Cabinet Meeting, August 9th, recap – our Club is in great shape – informative Cabinet meeting.

– LIONS on the LEON (a little less than 2 months out)
  – Sponsor handout – challenge each member to bring back at least one sponsor at ANY level. We NEED sponsorships to offset cost to hold the event – printing, signs, prizes & awards, carnival games & prizes.

  – Mail-out and emails to Belton Businesses and past sponsors (200 businesses) out last week.

Three (3) cash sponsors so far: Smoke Eater Guitars, Cochran, Blair & Potts and RVOS Insurance; plus Woodhouse Day Spa, Goodnight Loving Vodka & H-E-B as in-kind; and one Vendor – Christy’s.
  – Picnic in the Park – Jay White and the Blues Commanders –Thank you to Judy Garrett
  – Captain “D” Dash for Sight – 5K Fun Run/Walk – handout – route has been finalized –Our fliers in runner packets for Community Connection 5K & Nolanville 5K Foxtrot. We are posted on Running in the USA and on RunGuides; as well as Run Sign-up.  We already have runners signed up.

Ron Ducharme, President of Rescue Magazine and Consultant for Bell County Animal Shelter and along with his side kick, Princess Leia. From collecting food, toys, and all the supplies needed for animals in the shelters..he makes it look easy. Thank you for all he does for the animal community.
