Lion Keith gave us an update on our Lifetime Member Mac Hickerson. Suggestion was made to have a couple of members start taking lunch and visiting members who can’t join us on a monthly basis. Lions Keith and Rob will go next week – anyone else is welcome to join them.
Lion of the Year: Each year, past Lions of the Year nominate a member who has been a member; who has demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to their club and community over the past year. It is a way to recognize outstanding contributions that go above and beyond the usual expectations of club membership. This year’s Club Member … so well deserved … Congratulations to Lion Pam Blair!
Heritage Park Partnership Check Presentation: Past President Jon Fontenot invited James Grant, Director of Parks and Recreation; Joe Dyer, Parks Superintendent; Sam Listi, Belton City Manager; and David Leigh, Belton Mayor, to accept our annual $5,000 check in support of Heritage Park. Well Done Belton Lions!
Regular Business
– BOARD Meeting after lunch TODAY
– Committee Groups for 2026-2027 – sign-up sheet –These sign-ups are to volunteer to be on the planning and decision Committees – Thank you – the list is almost filled.
– Back to School with God Backpack Project, this Saturday, July 18th, Yettie Polk Park – Lion Jon final update – Temple Breakfast Lions Larry and Andi Wilkey will be eye screeners with help from BLC Members. H-E-B grant will cover the 750 hot dogs, chips, etc. – Lion PP Jon will pick up food supplies on Friday. Lion Keith will pick up other supplies from BLC storage unit. Girl Scout Troops 8121 & 8226 will be there to wrap the hot dogs and help serve. H-E-Buddy will be there to help. Lion Chris Gregg will bring his Blackstone to cook the hotdogs. Email info will be sent to members signed up to help.
– 1st District Cabinet Meeting of the new Lion Year – also this Saturday, July 18th, Coryell Museum and Historical Center, Gatesville. Lion Karen, with Lion Pam & Jason are going to represent the Club. They will be taking collected bottle caps, can tabs and Gatesville Lions requested school supplies.
– Texas Lions Camp – Family Camp – Session 9, July 22-24, 2026. Salazar Family of Four (4). Update from Lion Keith – our Club representatives will need to arrive at the Camp by 11am to serve lunch. While in Kerrville, we will tour the Camp and also the Texas Lions Museum. Lodging for Friday, July 24th. Lions going: Debra Sue Oden & Chris, Keith Cook, Jennifer Ramirez & Pete, Kevin Hisel & Kamille & their 3 children, Pam Blair & Jason, Karen Stagner and Susie Marek. If any member wants to just join them at the Camp to serve lunch; and take the tours without staying the night – just let the Secretary know your plans to go.
– Zone Chair – PDG Lisle Meeker has reached out to the Club to see if anyone is interested in becoming this year’s Zone Chair. Lion James Harrison who has been Zone Chair twice, explained the responsibilities. If anyone is interested, please contact Club Secretary – PDG Lisle Meeker will mentor throughout the year. Lion Clinton Bailey has volunteered to be Zone Chair – Thank you!
Program: – Lion Joe Dyer invited James Grant, City of Belton Director of Parks & Recreation to give us an update; and to receive our Club’s annual Heritage Park partnership check. Our Club is so proud to partner with the City for Heritage Park Ballpark, Playground & Pavilion each year. James Grant provided a visual update on the Parks Master Plan, including the new Phase II 1 mile walking trail. Thank you! – Belton Bacon, Blues & Brews, Saturday, September 26th, Downtown Belton- Captain “D” Dash for “Sight”, Saturday, October 3rd, Route totally within Heritage Park established; we have contracted and paid deposit to have a timed run to attract more runners – we’re looking for underwriters for the Timing ($1.400), for Award Medals ($600), and for T-Shirts ($750). Preliminary and variable P&L approved. Lion Pam Blair will coordinate sponsorships. Lions Karen Stagner and Danny Dossman will Team Lead; Committee: Pam Blair, Billy Conway, Club President(s) and Treasurer. Registration is open

– LCICON (International) 2030 will be in San Antonio, Texas; hosted by Texas Lions
