2025 Wacky Boat Race Entry Form

The Captain “D” 5K Dash for “Sight” will kick-off the event beginning at 8:30am, starting at the parking lot by the soccer fields, proceeding down Park Avenue, then circling through the neighborhood, returning along Park Avenue back to the Heritage Park parking lot – for awards and photos with Captain “D” at Picnic in the Park. This is not a timed event, but it is very close to a 5K. Every registered 5K participant will receive a custom commemorative spinner Race Medal. Award Categories: Adult Male & Female – 1st, 2nd, 3^rd; 11 & under Male & Female – 1st, 2nd, 3^rd; & Costume Award – 1st, 2nd, 3^rd. Registration rates for Adults and Students. Come in Pirate Costume to compete for an award or come as you are! Each entrant will receive a Swag “Booty” Bag; and will be entered into a Bib Raffle.
Event T-Shirt is guaranteed if registered by September 5th – limited sizes and quantity may be available after that date.
The Picnic in the Park will have music by Jay White and the Blues Commanders, concessions, vendors, pumpkin decorating, face painting, Quacky duck pond, carnival games, corn-hole, silent auction, and more. This event creates a unique experience where the community can come together in a family atmosphere.
Wacky Open and Cardboard Boats will line up at 11:00 a.m. for People’s Choice and President’s Award judging. Race heats will begin at 1:00 p.m. Boats must be homemade and people-powered – no motors. Boats can be simple raft-like or much more complex. They can be for one person or more than one; individual, family or commercial. The main thing that the Belton Lions Club is asking is that they are wacky in design. If it floats, you have a boat.
Funds raised with this family fun-filled event supports the many annual Belton Lions Club activities- Lions Park, Heritage Park, High School Scholarships, Lions Camp for Children with Special Needs, Holiday Food Baskets for the needy, B.I.S.D. HEARTbeat Program, Friends for Life Fall Festival and Pictures with Santa for the Special Needs Community, Eye exams and eyeglasses for Belton children, among others.
