New Business 

America’s Best Update – We received a letter from District Eyeglass Program Lea Ann Batey that the Company can no longer order glasses w/o payment.  Update: Lea has set up a plan for Clubs that want to participate – America’s Best can debit the Club (card on file) after getting authorization (per transaction) from the Club.  After discussion, Lion James moved; Lion Mike 2nd; voted approval. Secretary Karen will advise District Lion Lea Batey.

Belton Mini Storage – it’s renewal time – the amount for another 12 months is $935.26. Lion James motioned to approve, 2nd by Lion Mike, voted approval. Treasurer Rebecca will mail check.

LIONS on the LEON Captain “D” Dash for “Sight” – the only dates available in the Cen-Tex Race Series are in February or March.  The last Saturday in February is Salado Lions Roar; all Saturday’s in March are available. After discussion, the Board agreed to continue the Captain “D” Dash for “Sight” independently, on the first Saturday of October.  BLC Committee will start meeting on a regular basis to plan the improved 5K route and other logistics. Lion Joe Dyer, Belton Parks & Rec will be on the committee – Secretary Karen will meet with him next week.

Igloo Water Coolers for Stampede – we threw three (3) of the original coolers with outer casing cracked open.  We need to purchase.  $44.98 each AMAZON. Lion Mike moved to purchase; 2nd by Pam Blair; voted approval.  Secretary Karen will order.

– Purchase of four (4) first-aid kits for Stampede Rest stops – already approved 6/2025 – President Jon will email Secretary with the specific kits to order.

– Rest Stops for Stampede – Christina at KOM suggested we have Rest Stop themes – Board agreed that this would be fun for the riders.  We will reach out to BHS to see if they will assist at one of the rest stops and bring their mascot.

New Business – 2026 Program Schedule – Program Chair David Leigh emailed the proposed list.  Please check your date assignments and let Lion David know if you have a conflict.
– America’s Best Eye Care – we have received a letter that they are no longer accepting referrals from our District Clubs – under the current program.  District Eye Chair Le Ann Batey is looking into alternatives.
– MD2-X3 Mid-Winter Cabinet Meeting, Saturday, January 31st, Lorena, 8:30am-2pm (Peace Poster Contest winners announced) – sign up sheet
– District MD 2X3 Convention, April 10 & 11, Palestine, Texas – mark your calendars
– Captain “D” Dash for Sight – Cen-Tex Race Series 2026 Calendar is out. The only months that would be available would be February and March – August is now full.  The Board will discuss next week.
– STAMPEDE on the Chisholm Trail, May 9th – we’ve kick started the promotion … and need Sponsors (handouts)
Also, we have an opportunity to partner with the City, Parks & Rec and Downtown Business – Legends on the Chisholm Trail has been scheduled for Friday, May 8th & Saturday, May 9th – a win-win for both Chisholm Trail event participants.
Program:  Lion Larry Berg had invited Dan Kirkley to discuss Hope for the Hungry & CARE Network – unfortunately, Pastor Kirkley is ill.  Pastor Maria Alicia Martinez from Jesus 24/7 & CARE Network stepped up to provide in inspirational overview of the Church and Organization’s creation, activities and affiliations – Thank You!
