REMINDERS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
:

 District 2 X3 Cabinet Meeting & Convention Recap: President Keith Cook
– 85th Anniversary Celebration – Recap – Thank you James Harrison for organizing – great successful event.

– Texas Lions Camp Update – the camper we were sending had to cancel – we are searching for another camper to send.
– Texas Lions Camp Work Weekend – work weekends ended last week – the Club will try next year.
– Texas Lions Camp Visit – The Club will plan to visit the Camp on Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd.  On Friday, Camp will have a graduation and awards ceremony from 2:30-4pm; on Saturday, the Texas Lions Museum will be dedicated.
More on hotel options and transportation to be advised – maybe rent a bus.
– BLC Memorial Scholarship Application Deadline is next week, Friday, May 17th
– Mark Bellomy presented that Business Network International meets every Tuesday morning at 8:00am, Church of Christ on Hwy 317; they offer no charge membership to non-profits; he suggested that the Club might want to join the Network.  We will present this to the membership to see if anyone wants to be our BLC representative to join.
– Captain “D” Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk the morning of; and prior to kicking off the Wacky Boat Race Event.  Danny will meet with Joe Dyer, Belton Parks & Rec to discuss run route and logistics.
– Stampede – Saturday, June 8th – Update – Deadline for Sponsors Full Benefits – tomorrow, May 10th.
– Joint Service Project – Update – Clean-up on Nolan Creek for this Saturday, May 11th along with the Temple-Belton Ladies Lions – meet at the Harris Center at 7:30am – mud boots and gloves recommended. This project will satisfy the Club Excellence Joint Project requirement; and also the LCI Global Cause (Environment) requirement.
– Belton 4th of July Parade – Chamber is now taking Parade Applications.
– Back to School with God, July 20, 10am-Noon – Jennifer Bailey coordinating

ProgramRob Potts has invited Ellen Burnett, President, B.E.E.F., Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation.  Thank you, Lion Rob Potts, for inviting our guest speaker today, Ellen Burnett. Ellen is the President of the Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation-B.E.E.F. We appreciate everything Ellen and her team does at the Foundation for our teachers and graduates at Belton ISD.
