REMINDERS and ANNOUNCEMENTS:

– August 22^nd (TODAY) – Belton City Employees/Departments at Belton’s first Employee Conference.  Danny Dossman & Karen Stagner Representing the Club promoting membership and the Lions on the Leon – lots of interest in the run and the boat race.

– August 24^th (Saturday) – Rob and Margaret Chadwick are retiring from Eldred’s Nursery. Anyone interested in going to the event, please let the Secretary know.  They are trying to keep it a surprise.

– Zone Meeting – BLC hosting – Thursday, August 29^th – James Harrison is heading up planning.  Theme is:  Together Again. Sign up sheet.  We will have the Quacken to exchange to the Temple Belton Ladies Lions at the meeting.

– Bell County Senior Expo, September 24^th, 8am-1pm, Exposition Center hosted by the Belton Journal.  Sign up sheet.

– Lions on the Leon – October 5^th – Update on Vendors, Bucket Auction, Family Entertainment & Food Trucks. Committee Meeting Monday, August 26, 6pm, Danny’s home.

– Stampede Bike Ride 2025 Date – April 26th, 2025 Brett has been working on route and will schedule a committee meeting soon.
– Lions Foundation Annual Report – Belton Lions Club Foundation By-Laws and Constitution. Secretary Stagner has written Texas Secretary of State to see if they have a copy on file from around 1988-1990.

– 1^st Vice President & 2^nd Vice President – Todd Schiller has agreed to be 2^nd Vice President – nominations now open for 1^st Vice President. Please consider serving your Club – if you have questions or an interest, please contact any Board member.

– The Club now has a storage unit at Belton Mini Storage.  Any and all records and supplies can be combined into one location. Please contact Club Secretary for unit number and lock code to take supplies, information and records to storage.

Program: Secretary Lion Karen, invited Kathleen Brown. Kathleen wears many hats; President of the board for Surviving and Thriving Cancer Retreat and Music Therapist. Kathleen is also a breast cancer survivor … That is what drives her passion to put on The Surviving and Thriving Cancer Retreat every year. Their mission is simple, to help make friendships and to not give up the fight. Thank you, Kathleen, for everything you do.

– Belton Bacon, Blues and Brews, Friday/Saturday, September 27 & 28^th – confirmed to display Black Pearl and a few Pirates to promote the Boat Race Event.
– Next District Meeting, October 12, Athens, Texas
– Mark Bellomy presented that Business Network International meets every Tuesday morning at 8:00am, Church of Christ on Hwy 317; they offer no charge membership to non-profits; he suggested that the Club might want to join the Network.
– Belton Lions Wall at Heritage Park – James Harrison coordinating
– Friends of Belton Lions – James Harrison coordinating
– LEO Club Update – Brett – future interested LEOs can help with events, as they further their plans.
