BLC BOARD Meeting Recap – July 16, 2026
Call to Order by Lion 1st Vice President Kevin Hisel
Meeting opened at 1:02pm 

Board Members Present: Kevin Hisel, John Corsi, Jon Fontenot, Pam Blair, Keith Cook, Karen Stagner, James Harrison
Board Members Absent: Larry Berg, Danny Dossman, Jennah Gliha, Rebecca Hutton 

Membership Report – 45 Active Members

Treasury Report – Lion John Corsi motioned to accept; 2nd by Lion Jon Fontenot; voted accepted
            General Account – $ 9,147.67
            Foundation/Activity Account: $ $38,365.77
            Edward Jones – $ 24,055.51
            Gunter Financial – $ 12,266.77 

Service Metrics: New Lion Year started July 1st – no service activity listings – yet … 

Old Business: 

– CTBR Contribution to BLC from recent volunteering.  Lion Karen attended the check presentations ceremony on behalf of the Club.  CTBR presented the Club with a check for $500 of the original planned donation due to a recent unexpected expense for their event. CTBR President George Bunker advised that the remainder would be coming in the near future. 

New Business: 

– BLC Board Meeting for August – regularly scheduled for 3rd Thursday, August 20th. Lion(s) Karen and Rebecca will be on an Alaska Cruise from August 17th to August 25th.  Suggested to move the Board meeting to either August 13th or 27th. After discussion, the decision was made to hold the August Board meeting on Thursday, August 13th.  Motion by Lion James Harrison; 2nd by Lion Jon Fontenot; voted approved. 

– TX Crafty Girlz invoice for member name badges. Requesting authorization for payment. Discounted price of $10 per badge / plus saving cost of LCI shipping / Total badges so far = 18.  Invoice total $180.00. After discussion, Lion John Corsi motioned to approve payment; 2nd by Lion Pam Blair; voted approved. 

– Texas Lions Camp lunch contribution request – July 24th Visit – our Club will be serving the lunch to the kids and their families attending Family Camp. Clubs customarily underwrite the cost for the lunch.  Lion Keith advised the Board that the Camp Lunch cost is $1,800 – however, they are appreciative of any Club contribution amount.  After discussion, Lion Keith motioned that we donate the $500 that we made during CTBR; 2nd by Lion Jon Fontenot; voted approved.
