Lion Keith gave us an update on our Lifetime Member Mac Hickerson. Suggestion was made to have a couple of members start taking lunch and visiting regular members on a monthly basis – to those who aren’t able to join us.

– BOARD Meeting next week, July 16th
– Committee Groups for 2026-2027 – sign-up sheet –These sign-ups are to volunteer to be on the planning and decision Committees – Thank you – the list is almost filled.
– Belton 4th of July Parade “Celebrating 250 Years of America”. Lion George Bunker update – great fun parade – Lion George thanked everyone for planning and taking part! Our Mascot Linus was a great hit!
– Back to School with God Backpack Project, July 18th, Yettie Polk Park – Sign-up sheet passing – (same day as District Cabinet Meeting) President Jon Fontenot is Team Leader. Temple Breakfast Lions Larry and Andi Wilkey will be eye screeners. H-E-B grant will cover the 750 hot dogs, chips, etc. Girl Scout Troops 8121 & 8226 will be there to wrap the hot dogs and help serve. H-E-Buddy will be there to help. Lion Chris Gregg will bring his Blackstone to cook the hotdogs. Lion Jon provided a plan update.
– 1st District Cabinet Meeting of the new Lion Year – July 18th, Coryell Museum and Historical Center, Gatesville. (same day as Backpack Project). Lions Karen Stagner with Pam & Jason (aka “Roger Dodger”) Blair are going to represent the Club.
– Texas Lions Camp – we have a family going to Family Camp – Session 9, July 22-24, 2026. Salazar Family of Four (4). Thank you to Lion Keith Cook for coordinating this. Lion Keith provided an update that during Family Camp, they have a final day “lunch” instead of an evening awards ceremony. Our Club representatives will need to arrive at the Camp by 11am to serve lunch. PID Sam Lindsey will provide a Camp Tour at 2pm on Friday, July 24th. We are contacting PDG Lawrence Sanchez to try to arrange a tour of the Texas Lions Museum after the Camp Tour. Six (6) Rooms at Super 8 have been reserved and paid for Friday, July 24th. Lions going: Debra Sue Oden & Chris, Keith Cook & Trellis, Jennifer Ramirez & Pete, Kevin Hisel & Kamille, Pam Blair & “Roger Dodger”, Karen Stagner and Susie Marek.
Program: – Lion Jennifer Ramirez – Brenda Elliott, Elliot’s Sweet Boutique – Today’s lunch program was truly an Amazing Story of love, life, faith and giving! Brenda Elliott told the story her life, her giving heart, and the process of donating one of her kidneys to a woman that she knew was in need. This was truly an amazing story; and Brenda Elliott is an amazing woman! Thank you to Lion Jennifer Ramirez for inviting Brenda to tell the story of her giving journey!

– Bell County Senior Expo, September 22nd, 8am-1pm, Cadence Bank Center
– Captain “D” Dash for “Sight”, October 3rd, Route totally within Heritage Park established; we have contracted and paid deposit to have a timed run to attract more runners – we’re looking for underwriters for the Timing ($1.400), for Award Medals ($600), and for T-Shirts ($750). Preliminary and variable P&L approved. Lion Pam Blair will coordinate sponsorships. Lions Karen Stagner and Danny Dossman will Team Lead; Committee: Pam Blair, Billy Conway, Club President(s) and Treasurer. Registration is open – 3 runners have already signed up.
– USA/Canada Leadership Forum, September 3-5, Memphis, Tennessee
– LCICON (International) 2030 will be in San Antonio, Texas; hosted by Texas Lions

– Lions Field @Smith and West 5th could use some updates. Jon Fontenot will get Parks & Rec to explore options – tabled until we have more information.
