– Captain “D” Dash for “Sight”, October 3rd, Again, Please share Facebook posts from Lions on the Leon and Belton Lions Club Facebook pages. We have fliers to give out around town. Handout on tables listing sponsors, swag, food, bib raffle, etc.
– Bell County Senior Expo, Sept. 22, 8am-1pm, Volunteer Sign-up sheet passed. Team Leader: Lion Karen – general labor to help with greeting, bags, and whatever they need – maybe helping Temple Breakfast Lions with eye screening.
– Belton Bacon, Blues and Brews, Friday (9/25) & Saturday (9/26) – update and project explanation from Team Leader George & Tracie. Our Club members will “adopt” a wooden cut-out, have it painted, then Silent Auction them at the event. Sign up sheet to work the event will pass next week. We will also promote the Captain “D” Dash for “Sight” at the event.
– Texas Lions Leadership Forum, Oct. 3 & 4 (same Saturday as Captain “D” Dash), Lion(s) Karen, Debra Sue & Pam have signed up to go after the 5K.
– District Cabinet Meeting #2, Saturday, October 24th, Navarro College, Bain Center, Corsicana, Texas – sign-up sheet (same day at Friends for Life Fall Festival)
– MD2 Zone Meeting Proposal – Lion Clinton Bailey will attend the Killeen Zone meeting on October 5th. They are looking for Belton to host a Zone meeting during the 1st week in November. The Board will discuss at their next week’s Board Meeting.
Program: – Lion John Corsi brings us today’s “Ride for Life” – overview and highlights from Lion Brett & Sean Beamesderfer, and Rick Acosta (Board Member for S2HC). The five riders that joined our STAMPEDE with their fundraiser ride to support 2 youth riders and their families as they recover from their accidents – started a movement and now have an organization to help them to continue and grow – S2HC. The video overview is amazing and we’ll try to share it on our fb page. For today’s ride, Lion Danny Dossman provided drone video of them riding and coming back in to the Harris Center. Thank you ALL! This was an amazing and heartwarming presentation! More to Come!
