Program:

Joint Project Proposal with Kiwanis, Optimists & Rotary: Cynthia Hernandez received an email from John Hewko, General Secretary, Rotary International about a proposed joint service week with Kiwanis Intl., Lions Clubs Intl., and Optimist Intl. – during the week of September 11-17.  We discussed a proposed idea of Nolan Creek clean-up in September; or possibly a Hometown Hero event in October.  It was agreed that Belton Lions will volunteer and participate in whatever project they decided.  Sam Listi & Cynthia Hernandez will get with Matt Bates to discuss ideas and create the project … they will let us know.

Belton Bacon, Blues and Brews event, September 24th: Judy Garrett provided an overview of the event. John Corsi had reached out with an interest in having a plate spinning contest – competing spin time against Mac Hickerson. Belton Lions will set up a 10×10 canopy; selling the tickets for Bacon “People’s Choice” competition; plate spinning contest will be a free side activity – with a prize TBD.

More information to come as plans progress.
