– Past District Governor Randy Sepulvado – Our District 2-x3 came in 2nd for bringing in new members. Membership pins (2021) presented to Jon Fontenot, Mike Matthews, Christa Strang, Jim Hudson, Patti Powell. Our District was given the District Excellence Award for 2021 by LCI. Out of 1,400 District Club Members, the Governor award for marketing and communication was awarded to Angela Cases. The Governor’s Leadership Award is proudly presented to Belton Lions Past President James Harrison!
– District Governor Angela Cases – 2022 Awards – Belton Lions Club commended for “action”, “encouragement”, “growth”, “service” … Service Excellence Award for 2022 goes to James Harrison. Coveted pin for Service from the Heart awarded to James Harrison. Lion Harrison emphasized serving and having fun; then accepted the Awards on behalf of the Belton Lions. District Traveling Trophy was started in 1617 and goes to the Club with the most “Growth” in the District. Belton Lions Club is 2% above and leading – we need to keep the Lead and Win this Trophy!
– Installation of Billy Conway – officiated by Past President Harrison – WELCOME!
– Happy Birthday to Veronica Logan!
– Welcome Back Danny Dossman – we’re glad you are okay!
– Flag Program – Out of 143 Flags; we currently only have 14 unpaid. All unpaid flags are to be picked up and sleeves removed prior to Memorial weekend. Thank you ALL!
– Quarterly Dues Invoices – thank you for paying promptly.
– Belton Lion Business Cards – keep handing out those cards – inviting prospective new members.
– The Club will return to having a separate Secretary and a separate Treasurer for the 2022-2023 year. Lion Stagner will remain as Secretary. Please consider volunteering to serve as Treasurer. Our new year begins on July 1st. –
– Plate Spinning Contest – Judy Garrett loves the idea and will keep this in mind for upcoming events – keeping this on the agenda.
– Eyeglass Drop Boxes – the Post Office no longer sells old mail drop boxes to the public. David Leigh has found large free standing “mail-boxes” at a reasonable price. The Board will look at the options and pricing.
– Heritage Park Plan – Belton Lions Wall – keeping it on a front burner
– Next Board Meeting – TODAY – May 19th
Program: – Rob Potts invited Rucker Preston, Family Promise – their mission is to empower families experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. More than 93% of the families in the program succeed into permanent housing and do not fall back into a homeless situation. And … they are GROWING … building Promise House! Thank You!
