Belton Lions Club Board of Directors Meeting, Thursday, May 19^th, called to Order at 1:05pm

Present: John Corsi, James Harrison, Danny Dossman, Mac Hickerson, Karen Stagner

Dues Payments – pretty much in line … only 8 members unpaid.

Activity Account: $31,447.15

General Account: $3,905.91

1. Maybe have Charter Celebration 2023 at lunchtime; instead of dinner. Discussion that spouses might not be able to attend; however, more Lions might be able to attend.  We will discuss further and vote on it at the next Board Meeting.

2. Eyeglass Drop Boxes – Board discussed purchase of Winbest Large Steel Freestanding Floor Parcel Lockable Drop Slot Mail Box. Instead of having it “wrapped”, we could have it painted yellow; and get Lions decals/signage made.  We would like for it to be placed somewhere downtown (maybe the Library).  Motion to purchase was made by Danny Dossman; 2^nd by Mac Hickerson; approved to purchase.

Installation Date – June 23^rd.

Who will install?

4. Stampede Coordinator(s) – President Corsi will reach out to Reese Davis and Brett Beamesderfer.

5. Heritage Park Coordinator – Belton Lions Wall & Picnic – James Harrison;

Future Boat Race Event – Danny Dossman;

and June/July for annual donation.

6. New Treasurer to look into credit cards, paypal, venom, etc. – President Corsi will get with Sam Listi.

7. Scholarships – date(s) for awarding. Frank Hernandez will check into extending the deadline for applications – due to recent events at the High School – we currently only have one applicant.

8. Flag Program Membership Drive – we might want to consider an advertising program in the future to build up the Flag Program – maybe right before Labor Day – radio and/or TV PSAs.

9. Grand Avenue movie theater tickets – tabled until next month – James Harrison will be in charge.

10. Back to School with God event – eye exams – James Harrison will coordinate the event … just as we did last year. He will get with PD for the vehicle; and with Temple Belton Lady Lions for the manpower and equipment.  Belton Lions will again volunteer to serve the hotdogs, chips and water. The event will be August 6^th, at Yettie Polk Park.
