– 71 District Members attended / 22 Clubs represented
– District Convention is scheduled for Saturday, April 10 & 11, Palestine, Texas
– USA/Canada Leadership Forum, September 3-5, Memphis, Tennessee
– LCICON (International) 2030 will be in San Antonio, Texas; hosted by Texas Lions

– ANNOUNCEMENT – BLC Peace Poster entry from student Kim Lezana won 1st Place District and has been forwarded to State. District awarded her a Certificate and a check for $200 to be presented at the school.

– PRESENTATION(S): Lion(s) Danny Dossman and David Tuma received 30 year membership chevrons, and Mary Shockley will receive her 10 year chevron from Lions International. Thank you for your dedication and commitment!

Regular Business 

– Congratulations Wayne Carpenter – Beltonian of the Year 

– Note: February Board Meeting – moved up a week to February 12th

– STAMPEDE on the Chisholm Trail, May 9th – We still need Sponsors, Swag Bag donations (150) and Bib Raffle items (20). Current Sponsors: ABC Home & Commercial (Trail Boss); Don Ringler Chevrolet (Chuck Wagon), Dennis Eakin KIA (Point Man) and Cochran Blair & Potts (Point Man), Richard Weaver (Point Man), Sparta Crane & Drilling (Wrangler) – We need Volunteer Company or Family to man Rest Stops 3 & 5.

– Temple Founders Lions asked that we let everyone know that their Club will be at the Bell County Youth Fair on Tuesday, February 10, around 11:00am, serving hamburgers to the kids. We’re invited to help. Hamburgers are free to the kiddos; $5 to parents and adults. Anyone wanting to help Temple Founders. Signed up to help – Lion(s) Karen Stagner, Pam Blair & Maria Alicia Martinez.

– Tim Tebow Foundation Night to Shine Prom Night for Special Needs Community, Friday, February 13, 4:30-9pm, Temple Bible Church.  Lion Susie Marek, FRIENDS F♥R LIFE has invited Belton Lions to set up a table to promote Texas Lions Camp.  Signed up to help: Pam Blair, Maria Alicia Ramirez.

– Captain “D” Dash for “Sight”, October 3, update from meeting Tuesday, Feb. 3 – Route totally within Heritage Park established; we are planning to have a timed run to attract more runners – we need an underwriter for the Timing, for Award Medals, and for T-Shirts.

Program: Lion Past President John Corsi invited Denise Ayres, Director of PK-12 Career Readiness, Belton ISD. Denise presented an exciting account, summary and insight into the CTE Program in BISD – focusing on 12 areas of study – industry common in Bell County, with hands-on learning inside and outside the classroom.  Industry based learning with a mentor program. Thank you!
