– Board Meeting Recap:
Service Metrics: 8,442 people served; 1,162 Volunteer hours; $5,456.00 funds donated; $3,651.00 funds raised (July 1st to present)
– Discussion of date for Christmas Party: planned dates are approved by the Board
Dec. 11th is Christmas Basket delivery after lunch & Project Heartbeat Gifts due – NOTE: one week earlier than normal for baskets.
Dec. 18th is Club Christmas Party – then, set-up after lunch for Christmas with Santa at the Harris Center. NOTE: both events same day
No meeting Dec. 25th or January 1st.
– Lion Gene Ellis celebration lunch – planning for a date in November – 23 years as a Lion – updates to come
– Participation Invitation – McLane’s Children’s Hospital Holiday Party, Saturday, December 6th, Hematology and Oncology
patients – Sign-up sheet passed (attached). Our Club will set up Carnival Games and Prizes. Event will be held at Temple High CTE – Belton Christmas on the Chisholm Trail Parade, evening, Saturday, December 6th – (same day as McLane’s) – we will continue to discuss
– Board voted (10/23/25) to Volunteer and Serve with the Central Texas BBQ Round-up, scheduled for March 2026 at Cadence Bank Center.
Regular Business
– October 17th, UMHB Golf Center – Jane & Mac Hickerson Crusader Golf Club Building Dedication – update – Beautiful facility – honored to attend.
– October 18th, District Cabinet Meeting, hosted by Harker Heights Lions – update Lion Fontenot – great fellowship with other clubs; we served a project by sorting eyeglasses to send to the eye center.
– The Club is participating in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Lion PP Keith Cook presented the Club with 12 posters (from a total of 40 submitted) –club members voted for the three (3) finalists and one (1) overall winner to send to District; winner from District will move to compete in State; winner from State will go on to Nationals. We will prepare Certificates for the forty submissions; and award medals to the three (3) finalists.
– 15th Annual Central Texas Fall Festival for the Special Needs Community, Saturday, November 1st, 4-6pm, Central Texas Christian School – planning meeting after lunch today – Team Members: Jennifer Ramirez, Pam Blair (and Jason), Keith Cook, Sam Listi, Clinton Bailey, George Bunker – (Karen out 10/31 thru 11/9)
– November 20 – Thanksgiving Basket Delivery – sign-up sheet passed and filled today (attached) (Karen out 10/31 thru 11/9)

– LEO Club – the Club has been asked to join with Temple Breakfast Lions to support their existing LEO Club – this is a liaison commitment request; not monetary. We need a member to volunteer to be our Club liaison with Dr. Ponder and Dorree Collins. Please consider volunteering to meet with Dr. Ponder and Dorree to get more information– Lion President Jon volunteered to meet with them to get more information. Karen has reached out the Lisle Meeker for possible dates, locations and times – TBD
– BLC Fundraiser Cruise – March 1-8, 2026 from Galveston onboard the Regal Princess – with stops in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan – includes all port charges, round trip transportation to the pier in Galveston and a breakfast on the charter bus. – January 31st, District Mid-Winter Conference (Lorena), hosted by the Robinson Lions Club
– April 11th, District Convention, hosted by the Palestine Lions Club
– Lions Field @Smith and West 5th could use some updates. Jon Fontenot will get Parks & Rec to explore options – tabled until we have more information.
– Membership Milestone Awards – Will we be presenting these at Christmas? The Board agreed that Milestones will be in five (5) year increments; starting at 10 year membership. – John Corsi and Jennah Gliha. Secretary has provided a Report of each member’s length of membership. – No discussion at this meeting
– Update on Cadence Bank – CD and other – on hold
– Belton Lions Wall at Heritage Park – James Harrison coordinating
