BLC BOARD Meeting Order, Thursday, October 16, 2025 –

– Membership Report – 43 Active Members –2025-2026 1st Quarter Dues Handout

Business 

– Service Metrics: 8,442 People Served / 203 Volunteers / 1,162.5 Volunteer Hours / $5,456.00 funds donated / $3,651.00 funds raised

– Treasurer Update – Rebecca & Karen will go to the bank on October 24th with meeting minutes from the 23rd to change over and order debit cards. Rebecca will take over immediately. 

– Discussion of date for Christmas Party: planned dates are approved by the Board

                11th is Basket delivery after lunch & Project Heartbeat Gifts due

                18th is Set-up after lunch for Christmas with Santa at the Harris Center

                No meeting Dec. 25th or January 1st

– Lion Larry Berg is going to invite Lion Gene Ellis to lunch – we will present him with a plaque commemorating his 23 years as a Lion – He has been a member of BLC since 2008; and was a Lion before with another Club since 2002 – shooting for a November date – we’ll know 2 weeks out to allow time to have plaque made and cake ordered. 

New Business 

– McLane Children’s Hospital Holiday Party, Saturday, December 6th, Hematology and Oncology patients. Lions Clubs are invited to host an activity for the kids (invitation letter) – Lion Karen will find out what activities are still available; and will provide an interest sign-up sheet at the meeting on the 23rd

– Belton Christmas on the Chisholm Trail Parade, Saturday, December 6th (invitation letter) – mixed opinions, we’ll discuss again at the next Board meeting 

– Parks Meeting update – Lion(s) Keith & Karen – the next phase of Heritage Park is set to begin in 2027 and will include a long connected walkway along the River and possibly riverside lighting.  Regarding Lions Park – they (Parks & Planners) will keep us in the loop as to what we might be able to do updating that Park.
