Board Meeting Recap –
– Flag Program – We’re starting a door-knocking drive to increase participation – working with HOAs & starting with Dawson Ranch. Sign-up sheet will be passed soon.
– Eyeglass Program – The Board voted to increase our annual eyeglass budget to $1,000 per year.
– Service Project Report –

Total Funds Raised – $7,000.00 (STAMPEDE funds have not been added yet)
– Sponsorships – We are going to start reaching out to Corporations and major Belton businesses about matching funds and grant opportunities.
– BLC Lion Mascot – the Club has purchased a Mascot costume for use at all of our events.
General Business and Announcements
– BLC Fundraiser Cruise – March 1-8, 2026 from Galveston onboard the Regal Princess – with stops in Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Roatan – includes all port charges, round trip transportation to the pier in Galveston and a breakfast on the charter bus. – Judy Garrett asked that we mention Rockin Rotary, this Friday night at Schoepf’s (flyer)
– June 14th – Gatesville Fire Ant Tour Bike Ride – Jon and Angie Fontenot will work the event. Thank you!
– Captain “D” Dash for Sight 5K Run/Walk – combination of Trail and Streets (across the Park and through the neighborhood). It’s time to renew in Run Sign-up; and to start promoting (only four months out), Preliminary Map Layout submitted to Parks and Rec. More info at next meeting.
– Belton 4th of July Parade (Friday, July 4th, 9am). We WILL have an entry. Application and Waiver have been submitted. Safety Meeting, Saturday, June 21st. We will need help getting the Pearl out of storage on July 1st.
– Back to School with God, Saturday, July 19th, 9am-Noon, Yettie Polk Park – Mark Your Calendar – sign up sheet soon
Our Club will be selling the People’s Choice tickets and hold our Plate Spinning Contest at Belton, Bacon, Blues and Brews, September 27th

– Texas Lions Camp Visit & Tour – Friday/Saturday, June 13 & 14 – we have Keith (333590), Karen & Susie Marek (333591) Jennah/Chris (333589) and Jennifer & Pete Ramirez (333592).
– The Club plans to participate in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Keith Cook will take the lead during the 2025-26 school year.
– Lions Field @Smith and West 5th could use some updates. Jon Fontenot will get Parks & Rec to explore options – tabled until we have more information.
The William Long and Halley Cox Memorial Scholarship applications are in. Todd Schiller and Keith Cook have reviewed and will be presenting soon. Thank you!
Lions on the Leon – 2025 will be entirely riverside.
