REMINDERS and ANNOUNCEMENTS:
– BOARD MEETING after lunch today
– The Club now has a re-built and renewed Facebook page: Belton Lions Club – Belton, Texas. Please “like” and “follow”. It’s not perfect – it just works! Visit the photo albums that have been created on the page.
– Carolina’s Storm Damage – We received an email from MD-2 Lions Clubs of Texas about Hurricane Relief for District MD-31 – North Carolina. The Board will discuss a donation at the meeting today – President Jennah will reach out to DG Renee Lamson.
– We have received four (4) eyeglass invoices from America’s Best for Belton children. The Board will discuss the payments at the meeting today for formal approval and payment.
– Ribbon Cutting in honor of the Welcome to Belton Sign by the Leadership Belton Group – October 17, 10:00am, 3908 TX 317, Belton. Lion(s) Larry Berg, Sam Listi, Jon Fontenot, Wayne Carpenter, David Leigh attended. Our Club is proud to be a supporter of the Leadership Belton Sign Project.
– October 19th – Fall Festival for Children with Special Needs and their Siblings, Central Texas Christian School, Sign-up sheet. Volunteers arrive at Noon if you want to help with the overall set-up. Vendor set-up begins at 1pm. Event from 2-4pm. Costumes Welcome. Numbers Registered as of Friday, October 18: Families – 131; Children – 323; Adults – 286. Registration is still open.
– Thanksgiving Baskets for Special Needs Community – sign-up sheet to be passed starting November 7th; delivery date November 21st.
– Project HEARTBEAT BISD Homeless – Tag distribution Nov. 18-20; Gifts are due back December 11th.
We normally take 10 children tags; could we increase it this year? After discussion, the members agreed to increase the number to 20 –
– Pictures with Santa for Children with Special Needs and their Siblings will be Thursday, December 19th – 5:30pm – 8pm, Harris Community Center.
Program: Thank you, Lion John Corsi, for inviting our guest speaker for this Thursday, Tammie Baggerly. Tammie is the President of the Delta Program for BISD. The Delta Program helps adults with special needs from ages 18-21, to learn key skills to transition into independent living and work. We appreciate you, Tammie, for everything you and your staff does to make such a difference for these young adult lives.

Keeping on the Front Burner:
– Stampede Bike Ride 2025 Date – April 26th, 2025 Brett has been working on route and will schedule a committee meeting soon.
– Mark Bellomy presented that Business Network International meets every Tuesday morning at 8:00am, Church of Christ on Hwy 317; they offer no charge membership to non-profits; he suggested that the Club might want to join the Network.
– Belton Lions Wall at Heritage Park – James Harrison coordinating
– Friends of Belton Lions – James Harrison coordinating
– LEO Club Update – Brett – future interested LEOs can help with events, as they further their plans.
– January District Meeting, January 18, Temple, Texas
– The Club now has a storage unit at Belton Mini Storage. All supplies that were in Secretary’s personal storage are now in the Belton storage. Please contact Club Secretary for unit number and lock code to take supplies, information and records to storage.
– Lions Foundation Annual Report – Belton Lions Club Foundation By-Laws and Constitution. Texas Secretary of has provided a copy of the Articles of Incorporation from 1988. By-Laws Committee to update soon.
