– Birthday list passed around for Lions’ birthday updates. – Happy Birthday Rob Potts (8/3).– Lion President Harrison reminded of his “President’s Challenge” fundraiser to benefit Texas Lions Camp. President Harrison will match up to $500 that the Club raises to send to the Camp. Club total is currently $239.00 for President Harrison to match. Let’s get that full $500 from our President! The Challenge will run through November. We’re look forward to our Tail Twister returning to generate lots more matching funds.– Club Secretary handed out Membership Statements – statements will be distributed at the end of each quarter – even if there is a zero balance.– President Harrison presented new Lion Jon Fontenot with his LCI pin and our Belton Lions Club pin.Presentation: Lion Ted Smith presented Hannah Odell with the 2019-2020 Hallie Cox Scholarship Award. Coach Cox family founded this annual $1,000.00 Scholarship as a memorial to continuing education. Miss Odell is planning to attend UT focusing on Child Advocacy and Conflict Management. Congratulations! –Joke of the Day: By Lion Leigh (boiling) and Lion Knight (cool ranch) … Plate Spin: by Lion HickersonProgram:We were honored to Lion Mark Prentice, District Chair for Leader Dogs for the Blind, present an overview of the Program and the Farm, started in 1939, in Rochester, Michigan. “Intelligent Disobedience” is a term they use referencing the process of a Service Dog making individual judgements for his/her partner’s safety – critical thinking.
