Captain Larkin O’Hern spoke to the Belton Lions this past Thursday. If you are unfamiliar with Larkin and his story, he is a 2004 Belton Graduate and a 2008 West Point Graduate with a decorated military career. In December of 2010, he was deployed in Afghanistan and on Patrol when tragedy struck. He was in a house along with another solider when a bomb went off, the bomb killed his fellow solider and Larkin lost one of his arms and both of his legs from the explosion. His survival of the blast is a miracle, and his recovery is a humbling and inspiring story. Thank you Lion Barry Harper for bringing him to speak.
“It’s always a great week when so many of us can gather together and share in the experiences of a speaker such as Larkin.”
~ Belton Lion President Ted Smith
